CANO/ACIO Student Travel Grants

Purpose:

To facilitate the attendance of CANO/ACIO student members to the annual CANO/ACIO conference

Description:

Two (2) $1000 dollar grant will be awarded to be allocated towards the following:

  • Travel
  • Registration
  • Accommodation
  • Meals

Selection Criteria:

CANO/ACIO member in the student category currently enrolled in the RN program or RPN/LPN program can apply for a conference grant, however they can only be a recipient of a student grant once during their RN or RPN/LPN program. The applicant must be willing to submit an article for publication to either the Canadian Oncology Nursing Journal (CONJ) or the CANO/ACIO Connections Newsletter within one year of attending the conference.

Application Procedure:

Applicants are expected to submit:

  • A completed application form
  • A short paragraph (250 words) identifying why they wish to attend the conference and a sentence agreeing to writing an article within one year of attending the conference for publication in one of CANO/ACIO’s two publications

Applications will be reviewed by the Recognition of Excellence Committee and the Board of Directors.


CANO/ACIO Travel Grants

Purpose:

To facilitate the attendance of CANO/ACIO members to the annual CANO/ACIO Conference.

Description:

Eight (8) grants of $1000 each will be awarded to be allotted towards the following:

  • Travel
  • Registration
  • Accommodation
  • Meals

Selection Criteria:

A CANO/ACIO member who has been in good standing for one full calendar year prior to application can apply. Preference will be given to members who have not previously received a conference grant, and members who have no other sources of corporate or institutional funding.

Application Procedure:

Applicants are expected to submit a completed application form, including a short paragraph identifying why they wish to attend the conference.

Incomplete application packages may not be considered by the Recognition of Excellence Committee

After the conference, award recipients will be required to submit a short summary of their conference experience (no more than one page) to be published in the Chapter Corner of the CONJ or in CANO/ACIO Connections along with a photo.
