Do you ever wonder how best to support cancer patients who are suffering or whose quality of life is poor?Do you have knowledge and skills related to pain and symptom management? Do you ever wonder how to provide spiritual care or bereavement support?Do you have knowledge and skills related to palliative care that you would like to share with others? Do you wish there were others to ask questions about oncology palliative care nursing in Canada? The CANO/ACIO Palliative Care (PC) Special Interest Group (SIG) provides a national forum for oncology nurses to:
- Exchange ideas, knowledge, and skills.
- Promote palliative care as part of oncology nursing.
- Promote advanced palliative care as a specialty.
- Promote the standards of palliative care nursing across settings in oncology nursing care.
Membership benefits include professional identification and networking with other nurses with similar interests, national communication through CONJ, opportunities to participate in national education and research projects relating to palliative care and cancer, and helping to influence the culture of cancer care in Canada that includes palliative care.
