CANO/ACIO Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award was first introduced in 2004 as part of CANO/ACIO's 20th Anniversary celebrations. The CANO/ACIO Board of Directors introduced the Lifetime Achievement award as a way of acknowledging the outstanding achievements of Canadian oncology nurses. The purpose of the award is to recognize the contributions of a CANO/ACIO nurse to the development of oncology nursing in Canada - a lasting contribution - a lasting legacy of impact. The award is provided to a CANO/ACIO nurse who has made significant outstanding contributions to CANO/ACIO, to oncology nursing and/or to cancer care in Canada during his/her professional career.

"Oncology nursing in Canada today would not be what it is without the contributions of the individuals who are nominees and recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award"
Greta Cummings, 2007
