ACCOUNTABILITY AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The committee reports to the CANO/ACIO Board of Directors through Lorraine Martelli-Reid, DAL- Membership, and is ultimately accountable to the general membership.

PURPOSE

  • To profile gynecologic oncology nursing as a specialty at the national level.
  • To develop a network of experts (in practice, education, research & administration) in the specialty that will foster best practice through information sharing among cancer centres.
  • To provide a forum for nurses to exchange innovations, knowledge, and skills related to the specialty.
  • To incorporate CANO standards of practice in the groups initiatives
  • To initiate projects for the specialty, this will be driven by issues and needs identified by our members
  • To explore opportunities to collaborate with members of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada in quality initiatives.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate at meetings and collaborate with other members to move initiatives forward.
  • Contribute to the agenda
  • Participate by sharing their expertise and sharing best practice at their respective centres.


MEMBERSHIP
At least 10 CANO members from all domains of practice (clinical, education, research and administration) with expertise (or interest in developing expertise) in gynecologic oncology.

TERMS OF OFFICE

  • The Chair is appointed for a 2 year term which is renewable twice.
  • Regular members can maintain an indefinite terms of office.
  • Rolling membership will be encouraged to ensure a core group of SIG members are available to support/mentor new members.
