WANTED: EXTRAORDINARY NURSES!
CALL FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS
Deadline for CANO/ACIO Awards June 1, 2010

CANO/ACIO is pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for CANO/ACIO awards. You are invited to submit nominations for the following awards:

  • CANO/ACIO-Pfizer Awards of Excellence: This Awards Program recognizes four oncology nursing excellence awards in the areas of education, leadership, practice and research.

  • CANO/ACIO-AMGEN Award for Innovation in Oncology Patient & Family Education: This award recognizes oncology nurses whose primary function is patient and family care and who have demonstrated creativity in the development of patient education materials or programs or the delivery of patient education.

  • CANO/ACIO-AstraZeneca Reach for Excellence (CARE) Award: This national award is specific to breast cancer nursing and will be awarded annually through a nomination process open to healthcare professionals.

  • CANO/ACIO-Ovarian Cancer Canada Award: This award, sponsored by the Ovarian Cancer Canada, will acknowledge a CANO/ACIO member who has made significant and outstanding nursing contributions in gynecology-oncology with a preferred focus on ovarian cancer.

Nominations must arrive at the CANO/ACIO Management Office no later than June 1, 2010. Email nomination packages are encouraged. Inquiries may be directed to cano@malachite-mgmt.com or 604-874-4322.

CANO/ACIO recognizes some of the outstanding achievements of Canadian oncology nurses through an awards program that is managed by the Recognition of Excellence Committee and supported by a range of corporate sponsors. Unless otherwise noted, awards are presented at the annual CANO/ACIO conference. Previous recipients of each award can be found in the past winners page. CANO/ACIO members who meet the criteria may apply or be nominated for the following awards:

Lifetime Achievement

All nominees must be current CANO members and hold membership for at least 2 consecutive years.Consideration will be given to nominees with active involvement in CANO/ACIO. All nominees should review the current CANO Conflict of Interest Policy to ensure eligibility.
