CANO/ACIO-Schering Plough Lectureship Award

The CANO/ACIO-Schering Lectureship was established to recognize excellence in clinical practice. The speaker for this annual lecture is chosen from those CANO/ACIO members whose abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation at the annual CANO/ACIO conference. Particular emphasis is given to abstracts that present innovative nursing interventions, unique methods of application of theory in practice, or show initiatives for improving patients’ quality of life.

The award includes the opportunity to present a special plenary lecture at the CANO/ACIO conference, an honorarium and plaque, travel and accommodation expenses, and conference registration. This paper will also be published in CONJ.

Helene Hudson Memorial Lectureship Award (Amgen Oncology)

CANO/ACIO and Amgen have established a memorial lectureship in honour of Helene Hudson. The presenter for this lectureship is also selected from CANO/ACIO members who have submitted abstracts for oral presentation at the annual CANO/ACIO conference. This inspirational lectureship is awarded to the abstract which best promotes the spirit and vision of oncology nursing.The award includes the opportunity to present a special plenary lecture at the CANO/ACIO conference, an honorarium, travel and accommodation expenses, and conference registration. This paper will also be published in CONJ.

CANO-ACIO/Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada Award For Excellence in Neuro-Oncology Nursing

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is pleased to announce an award to acknowledge the exemplary work of nurses through the establishment of an award of excellence in neuro-oncology nursing. The purpose of this award is to promote the dissemination of information related to the nursing care of children/adults/families with brain tumours, and is given to support oncology nurses in continuing education activities.This award will be presented to a CANO/ACIO member who presents the best paper or poster in the area of neuro-oncology nursing at the annual CANO/ACIO conference. The presentation may reflect clinical practice, education or research related to the neuro-oncology population.The award, which will be presented at the closing ceremonies at the annual conference, consists of an honorarium ($1,500) to be used to support the recipient’s continuing education and a framed recognition certificate.

Manitoba Chapter of CANO/ACIO Poster Award

The Manitoba Chapter of CANO/ACIO is pleased to present the poster award, which will be awarded to the best poster of the CANO/ACIO Conference. The award will be presented during the closing ceremonies.
